Ideal candidate: Someone who has flexibility during school hours for meetings and events. The position is best for someone with strong leadership and organizational qualities who can manage and oversee the job duties of ALL board members.

 

Responsibilities: 


VP of Programs

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week (during months with a planned program)

 

Busiest Time of Year: July/August (planning and scheduling programs for the school year) & Spring for planning & executing Family Fun Night

Ideal candidate: Someone who has excellent organizational & communication skills in order to properly plan out all programs throughout the school year. Communication skills are required in order to work with Tadlock Principal and PTA President to discuss & receive approval for programs and program dates, as well as creating graphics & promotional material for all programs for social media and newsletters. Someone with the ability to be present for ALL evening programs as well.


Role & Responsibilities:

Time Commitment: 2 hours per week, significantly higher during peak event weeks.

Busiest Time of Year: Beginning of school year and around major fundraising events (BINGO Night, Read A Thon, Turkey Trot)

Ideal candidate: Organized & comfortable with working with computers.  Position is very flexible as far as when the work is done.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/week

 

Busiest Time of Year: Beginning of the year when new to role | weekly check runs | around Book Fair and event times as checks (reimbursements) are requested |March/April preparing upcoming proposed budget with President | end of fiscal year preparing Financial Reconciliation report for committee | August submitting required 990 Tax Documents.

 

Ideal candidate:  Extremely organized, some financial acumen (but you do not have to be an accounting major), flexible for check signings weekly.

Ideal candidate: Need to be present at all board and general meetings.  Detail oriented and organized is preferred to keep up with minutes and documents.

Book Fair:

Time Commitment: 75 hours per year

 

Busiest Times of Year: Very intense for the weeks surrounding the Fall and Spring Book Fairs

 

Ideal candidate:  Great position for someone who cannot commit to a position needing year round support but can commit to working school hours for 1-3 weeks around book fairs. Someone with good communication & organizational skills.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

The Book Fair chairperson works with the Tadlock Librarian, Principal, PTA President, and Treasurer to plan and executes two book fairs for the school (Fall & Spring). The chairperson is responsible for promoting the event, ordering and delivering books, setting up and taking down the fair, and managing sales.

Council Delegate:

Time Commitment: Up 1-2 hours monthly

 

Busiest Time of Year: Around FISD Council meeting dates

 

Ideal candidate: Must be able to attend Frisco ISD Council of PTAs monthly meetings (generally held on Tuesday mornings on a monthly basis). Must also be able to attend all Tadlock PTA Board & General Meetings.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

The Council Delegate is to receive information from the council (Frisco ISD Council of PTAs), report actions & share important information back to the local unit (Tadlock PTA) and vote as directed by the local unit membership.

Social Media:

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week

 

Busiest Time of Year: Steady effort throughout the year

 

Ideal candidate:  Great job for someone who can’t commit time during school hours as the majority of the job can be performed at home behind the computer/phone. Must be organized and excellent with communication and responsive to board member’s emails regarding needed posts.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing and updating the PTA’s social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram) to effectively communicate upcoming events, important information, volunteer opportunities, and overall school happenings to parents, staff, and the wider community ensuring a consistent online presence that aligns with Tadlock PTA’s goals and brand.

Healthy Lifestyles:

Time Commitment: 20 hours annually

 

Busiest Time of Year:  First of year when learning the role

 

Ideal candidate:  Someone that would be able to attend the twice annual Bike & Walk to School Days (in the morning before school). 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

A PTA Healthy Lifestyles chairperson advocates for healthy lifestyles in the school community and connects the PTA with the community on health-related issues. They also develop programs to address areas of need. Organizes & promotes twice annual Bike & Walk to School Days.



Hospitality:

Time Commitment:  2-3 hours a month (more before & during event times)

 

Busiest Time of Year:  On-going l Before start of school year planning for Back to School Teacher Luncheon l 2 times a year planning and executing Teacher Luncheons I April/May planning and executing Teacher Appreciation Week

 

Ideal candidate:  Great position for someone who loves hosting and planning parties/events, is organized & has good communication skills.  Even better if you enjoy giving back and making others smile!  Position does require the ability to be at the school during the days of Teacher Luncheons & Teacher Appreciation Week. 

 

Role & Responsibilities:


Room Parent Coordinator:

Time Commitment:  1-2 hours weekly except around party time/service projects which requires at least 10 hours weekly

 

Busiest Time of Year: Beginning of the year, Nov/Dec, April/May

 

Ideal candidate:  This position requires some time during school hours, in particular around party planning meetings.  Ideal candidate is organized and can balance a few moving parts at once.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating all of the “room parents” within the school, acting as a liaison between teachers, parents, and the PTA to ensure smooth executing of classroom events (i.e., Winter Parties & year end parties), activities, and volunteer recruitment, while reporting to Tadlock PTA leadership regarding room parent initiatives and needs.


SAGE:

Time Commitment: 3 hours per month, based on activities

 

Busiest Times of Year: During the planning & execution of Diverse Abilities Day annually 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

SAGE stands for Special and Gifted Education and the mission of our SAGE Committee is to provide an opportunity for families and teachers of students who learn differently to share resources and friendship. Responsible for planning and executing annual Diverse Abilities Day by working with the School Counselor.


Spirit Wear:

Time Commitment: 2-3 hours monthly

 

Busiest Time of Year: Beginning of August (before school begins)/Beginning of school year, March/April to plan for upcoming year

 

Ideal candidate: This position is ideal for someone who cannot commit large amounts of time during school hours.  Creativity is a plus but not a must!  Enjoys promoting school spirit! Someone who is organized and can work well with others.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

Responsible for organizing and managing the selection, design, marketing, and sale of school spirit wear items throughout the year, including choosing the merchandise, coordinating with vendors, taking orders, and ensuring timely delivery to students and parents; essentially acting as the point person for all aspects of the school spirit wear program.


Spirit Nights/Vendor Programs:

Time Commitment: about 2-3 hours a month

 

Busiest Times of Year: Prior to school starting  

 

Ideal Candidate: Someone with excellent organizational and communication skills.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

Responsible for organizing and promoting "Spirit Nights" - fundraising events where a percentage of sales at participating local businesses are donated back to the school, with the primary duty to secure partnerships with businesses, coordinate marketing efforts, and manage the logistics of each event to maximize school fundraising. Also responsible for promoting our 2 vendor programs (Box Tops & Kroger Community Awards)


Volunteer Coordinator:

Time Commitment:  2-4 hours weekly

 

Busiest Times of Year: All year

 

Ideal candidate:  Ideal candidate has coordination skills and can manage multiple projects at once. Candidates should have excellent communication & planning skills. Position requires this board member to be present at the school during volunteer events and monthly Sip & Snip event.

 

Role & Responsibilities: 

Responsible for recruiting, managing, and assigning volunteers for all Tadlock PTA events ensuring smooth operation of volunteer activities by coordinating with teachers, administrators, and other PTA members to identify needs, recruit volunteers, provide training, and oversee their placements across various school events and initiatives


Watch D.O.G.S. Chair

Time Commitment: 5 hours/month (more if volunteering at the school as a Watch D.O.G. for the day)

 

Busiest Times of Year: Beginning of the year organizing, promoting, and recruiting new members during the annual Watch D.O.G.S. Pizza Night l Spring planning and organizing Donuts with Dad morning event.

 

Ideal Candidate: Tadlock PTA Dad or Father figure who is organized, has excellent communication skills, and comfortable representing the Watch D.O.G.S. Program at Tadlock Elementary.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the "Watch D.O.G.S" program at Tadlock, which involves recruiting fathers and other male volunteers to spend time at the school during the day, assisting with various tasks like monitoring hallways, helping with lunch, and providing a positive male presence for students; this role typically includes recruiting volunteers, training them on program procedures, scheduling shifts, and maintaining communication with the school administration and other PTA members.
