What is WATCH D.O.G.S.®?

WATCH D.O.G.S.  is a family and community engagement initiative recognized nationwide. The program brings fathers and father figures into schools to make a positive impact. Whether you’re helping in the classroom, greeting students in the morning, monitoring hallways, or joining kids at recess - your presence makes a difference!  Learn more about WATCH D.O.G.S. here & here.

Goals of WATCH D.O.G.S. 

• Provide positive male role models for students

• Help create a safer, more supportive school environment

• Strengthen connections between fathers and their children

Who can join WATCH D.O.G.S.?

WATCH D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, older brothers and other father-figures who volunteer their time to support students at Elliott.

What do WATCH D.O.G.S. do?

WATCH D.O.G.S. help with:

• Greeting and assisting during student drop-off and pick-up

• Monitoring entrances, hallways, and lunch/recess

• Supporting teachers in the classroom

• Reading with students, helping with flash cards, or playing at recess

Volunteers actively engage not only with their own children, but with many students throughout the school day.

Do I have to volunteer a full day?

Not at all! Whether you can give multiple days a year, a couple of hours a month, or just one day during the school year, we are happy to have you. Every bit of time makes an impact!
